About Us
Since its inception in 2016, the Basin Burnout has evolved from a friendly competition among oil and gas organizations into a highly anticipated event and a charitable powerhouse in the Permian Basin. Over the past decade, the event has raised over $300,000 for local and national veteran-based organizations. In 2024 alone, the Basin Burnout raised more than $160,000 for our beneficiaries: Reel Thanx, Boot Campaign, Toys for Tots (Permian Basin), and the Midland VFW Post 4149.
As a community event, the Basin Burnout is open to the public and invites organizations and families to join the fun. The event features live, local music throughout the day, culminating in performances by Grammy-winning artists in the evening. Attendees can enjoy a unique all-day experience with one of the largest amateur cooking competitions in the Permian Basin, offering free BBQ samples. Local businesses participate as exhibitors, providing shopping and exploration opportunities, while kid-friendly activities such as face painting and bounce houses keep children entertained.
The Basin Burnout aims to provide something for everyone: kid-friendly activities, live entertainment, and the best amateur BBQ in the Permian Basin. The event also offers numerous networking opportunities for sponsors and BBQ competition teams, all while supporting our nation’s heroes. Join us in 2025 and be a part of our charitable giving.
